Half of the higher seeds went through to the next round but Aaron continues the big upset of the 16 seed beating the number 1 seed as he shocked Andy H 23-22. Last year David S (16) beat Ron (1). The line-up for the Divisional Round includes Johnny (2) taking on Aaron (16), AP (5) playing David S (14), Mark (6) faces Marcus (13) and Cheryl (7) entertains Wayne (9). Teams to me by 10am Saturday please. First come first served etc. NFL Wildcard Weekend Half of the home teams won this weekend. On Saturday night Seattle defeated Washington 35-14, but only after blowing a 13-0 lead and watching Suisham miss a 30 yard field goal that would’ve put Washington 17-13 ahead. Then Pittsburgh scored three 4th quarter TDs to take the lead 29-28 but left enough time for Jacksonville to drive into Field Goal range where Scobee won it for the visitors. The New York Giants totalled minus 2 yards of offence in the 1st quarter but then dominated the game winning in Tampa 24-14 and after having just three 1st downs in the 1st half San Diego came back to defeat Tennessee 17-6. Franchise Players 2007-2008 As is the norm you’ll select your Franchise player after the NFL Draft and majority of free agency as I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June. You’ll be giving up the player that you franchised two years ago though some have been cut due to injury or as they failed to live up to their owners hopes. Big names coming onto the market include QB Tom Brady and RBs Steven Jackson, Larry Johnson & Rudi Johnson. Analysis of franchise players taken since 1998 (see attached) show Andy H has been the most successful owner with his 10 franchise players scoring 1,328 points. 2nd is Johnny with 1,210 points. H’s average of 132.8 also leads though he has taken 3 kickers in that time (who always score more points per season). The 2nd highest average is 122.3 set by the 4 players Gully franchised back between 1998 and 2001. Priest Holmes scored the most points when franchised, scoring 306 for Chief in 2002-3. 3 players have been franchised 3 times, kicker Adam Vinatieri (Gully, David S & AP), and QBs Peyton Manning (Daz, Wayne & Marcus) and Brad Johnson (John-twice & Aaron). BUMS on Seats It’s time for the Divisional games this weekend. On Saturday night we will gather at BUMS HQ from 9:30pm to see Seattle (11-6) @ Green Bay (13-3). We will be at BUMS HQ on Sunday from 4pm to watch the recording of Jacksonville (12-5) @ New England (16-0) which is played overnight, followed at 6pm on Sky with San Diego (12-5) @ Indianapolis (13-3) followed by NY Giants (11-6) @ Dallas (13-3).
